PUBLIC RELATIONS INTERN 

Paid Internship

Position Overview: 

LunART is seeking a Public Relations intern to support our mission of uplifting and celebrating women in the arts through strategic communication and media outreach. This opportunity is ideal for individuals interested in careers in public relations, arts administration, communications, media, and/or social justice. The internship offers valuable hands-on experience in the nonprofit arts sector.

This is a flexible, remote position requiring 5–10 hours per week. Compensation is $500, paid in two installments—in January and June. We’re looking for a thoughtful, detail-oriented communicator to join our dynamic team and help amplify LunART’s voice in the community and beyond.

Reports To:
The Public Relations intern will report to LunART Founder and Executive Director, Dr. Iva Ugrcic.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Draft and distribute press releases and media advisories for events, programs, and announcements

  • Manage and maintain community calendars 

  • Build and maintain relationships with press contacts and community partners

  • Track audience engagement and media coverage and compile press clippings for organizational records

  • Assist with internal and external communications, including newsletters (using MailChimp platform) and email outreach

  • Support development of messaging and talking points for organizational initiatives

  • Help organize media kits and outreach strategies for upcoming campaigns and performances

  • Attend weekly virtual team meetings and complete tasks in a timely manner
     

Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Interest in media relations, nonprofit communications, and the arts

  • Ability to craft compelling, audience-focused narratives

  • Familiarity with press release writing and AP style is a plus

  • Professionalism and comfort with remote collaboration tools
